Uba Sani: Some politicians appear on TV to boast — we’re developing Kaduna without noise

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, has criticised politicians who “appear on television to boast of billions” without delivering development, insisting that his administration is focused on tangible results rather than noise.

Speaking on Monday in Unguwan Dantsoho, Sabon Gari ward of Kudan LGA, Sani said his government is committed to spreading projects beyond the state capital to rural areas that have long been neglected.

“Some politicians are good in just appearing on television, claiming that their administration had accrued several billions but there is nothing to show on ground. We are not a government of noise makers,” he said.

“When I assumed office, I promised to take development to both urban and rural areas because the revenue of Kaduna State does not belong to city dwellers alone.”

The governor made the remarks at the groundbreaking of a six-kilometre road linking Kudan and Sabon Gari LGAs through Hunkuyi junction and Bassawa.

He said the project was part of his promise to redress years of neglect in Kudan, one of 12 area councils that had not benefitted from any road construction in more than a decade.

“Kudan local government is one of the 12 area councils that had not benefited from any road construction in the last 12 years. Politicians from the area should be ashamed of themselves,” Sani said.

He also announced plans to build a hospital in Unguwan Dantsoho and provide financial support for women, describing these initiatives as proof of his resolve to deliver meaningful development to the grassroots.

Turning to security, the governor reiterated his pledge to secure justice for the victims of the Mangun killings in Plateau state.

In June, 12 travellers from Kaduna were waylaid and murdered on their way to a wedding in Qua’an Pan LGA, 11 of whom were from Unguwan Dantsoho.

Sani said he had already provided financial assistance and housing for the bereaved families, and would not relent until accountability was secured.

“Allah has placed the protection of lives and property on me, and I will not rest on my oars until I discharge this responsibility,” he said, adding that development can only thrive where peace is sustained.
