UCL: Porto beaten ‘pants’ down

UCL: Porto beaten ‘pants’ down

Porto’s hopes of making it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) were shattered in 22 devastating minutes as Bayern Munich scored five first-half goals against the Dragons at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern slowed down in the second half and Porto pulled a goal back through Jackson Martinez, but Xabi Alonso’s late free kick earned the Bavarians an emphatic 6-1 win as they overturned a 3-1 deficit in the first leg.

However, the excitement was too much for their manager Pep Guardiola who exposed his pants after splitting trouser during the massacre.

The Bundesliga champions were 5-0 up by half-time after goals from Thiago Alcantara, Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller and a Robert Lewandowski brace.

And Guardiola was excited after Bayern became the first club to score five goals in the first half of a UCL knockout game.

This first half achievement broke a handful of European football records – as well as the seam in the Spaniard’s trouser!

Bayern Munich qualify 7-4 on aggregate and join Barcelona in the semi-finals.

The Catalan giants had already won 3-1 at the Parc des Princes, so there was little surprise when they defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the return leg too.

Neymar got both goals in the first half with assists from Andres Iniesta and Dani Alves.
