Ugo Ehiogu, former England and Aston Villa defender, was rushed to the hospital after collapsing on Thursday.

Ehiogu, Tottenham’s U-23 coach, collapsed at the team’s training ground.

He was treated on site before he was taken to the hospital.

Tottenham broke the news on their Twitter handle: “We can confirm that Ugo Ehiogu is currently in hospital after collapsing at our Training Centre earlier today.”

The North London club added that: “Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Ugo and his family.”

“We shall continue to provide updates when we have further information.”

The Homerton-born defender also played for West Brom, Leeds United, Rangers and Sheffield United.

He was a member of the Aston Villa team which lost in the final of the 2000 FA Cup at the old Wembley Stadium.

Ehiogu joined Spurs in coaching capacity three years ago.
