Umo Eno appoints Michael Effiong as SSA on Lagos liaison
Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom, has appointed Michael Effiong, editor of Ovation International magazine, as his senior special assistant (SSA) on Lagos liaison.
A letter signed by Enobong Uwa, secretary to the state government (SSG), said James and 49 others were appointed as special assistants and personal assistants.
The letter dated November 1 indicated that their appointments take immediate effect.
Before his appointment as SSA, Effiong was the editor of Ovation International for close to 20 years.
Before joining Ovation in June 2003, Effiong was the editor of Encomium Magazine.
Effiong is an alumnus of the University of Lagos. He is also a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, International Press Institute, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, and Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria.
He is a Rotarian and Paul Harris fellow who has served as president, Rotary club of Ikeja south, since 2019.
