Just three days after a fire outbreak at Madam Tinubu Hall, University of Lagos (UNILAG), that left some female students with fractured bones, the university has again recorded a fire incident.

At about 1am on Wednesday, fire broke out at one of the stalls at Yem-Yem supermarket, inside the university.

Sources told TheCable that the latest incident was the fifth in the current semester, which began in August.

Some ladies attempted to escape Sunday’s 4am fire outbreak by jumping off the first and second floors of the four-storeyed building. Most of them ended up at the Igbobi orthopaedic hospital.

The university, which was founded in 1962, has just one fire extinguishing vehicle, TheCable confirmed.
