Students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Thursday boycotted academic activities to protest against the blackout and water scarcity that have plagued the university for few weeks.

The students took to the streets and shut the gates of the school to demand solution to the lack of basic social amenities on the campus.

According to The Press Club, University of Lagos, there has been a price hike of goods on campus due to the exchange rate and this does not leave out Garri, a cassava product.

The water scarcity did not leave out sachet water, as traders now sell only bottled water on campus, which can not be afforded by all.
