United Nigeria Airlines has confirmed an altercation involving Martins Vincent Otse, a social media activist popularly known as VeryDarkman (VDM), and Freedom Atsepoyi, a comedian known as Mr Jollof.
In a statement, Chibuike Uloka, the airline’s public relations officer, said the incident occurred during the boarding of flight UN0523 at Asaba International Airport on Monday.
Uloka said the crew acted “immediately and professionally” in line with global aviation safety protocols to de-escalate the situation.
“Both passengers were deboarded without delay to ensure the safety, comfort, and security of all other passengers and crew members. They were subsequently handed over to airport security for further investigation,” Uloka said.

Earlier, a physical altercation between Mr Jollof and VeryDarkMan went viral after the two were filmed trading blows aboard a plane.
The video footage shows the two men engaged in a heated fistfight as alarmed passengers attempted to pull them apart.
Reacting, Michael Achimugu, director of public affairs and consumer protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said the agency maintains zero tolerance for unruly conduct on any aircraft, adding that both individuals will face the full weight of the law.
