Many Nigerians were in action for their respective clubs over the weekend — some impressive, some flopped, and many were lost in the activities.

Here are the top performers who made TheCable’s team of the week:

Sebastian Osigwe [Kriens]

The former Flying Eagle was always in the action, blocking several shots and was always ready to take risks. Alert.

Moses Odubajo [Sheffield Wednesday]

A rock at the back and smothered the opposition at every turn. Got upfield on several occasions. Forceful.

Semi Ajayi [West Brom]

The Wall is back with a capital W, inspiring a hard win with his almost total control in the centre. Showed his determination. Purposeful.

Stephen Eze [Lokomotiv Plovdiv]

Eze showed he was more than capable in the centre. His performance was best defined by his perfect sliding tackle to rob Wanderson. Immoveable.

Taye Taiwo [RoPS]

Showed his usual quality and controlled any action coming down RoPS’ left. Flexible.

Ramon Azeez [Granada]

Ramon Azeez was very innovative and hardworking at the middle of the park for Granada who beat Las Palma’s 2-0 in a friendly.

Eberechi Eze [QPR]

Always in control and his constant probing with and without the ball made him a thorn in Stoke City’s side. Scored with determination, blended with aggression and pure skill, as he slotted it past the ‘keeper. Articulate.

Junior Chukwubuike Adamu [Liefering]

Went close early on and was superb throughout. He scored the second goal when he dribbled past his marker before firing a curling shot past the goalkeeper. In the 75th minute, Adamu netted again with another shot from inside the 18-yard box after breaking clear. Clever.

David Okereke [Club Brugge]

Man of the Match and continually tested the keeper with series of shots. Showed the extent of his ability with some perfect passing, running and intelligent positioning. He accounted for two goals and an assist. Gifted.

Ezekiel Henty [Puskas FC]

The AC Milan product hit the ground running with a brace. He bagged a brace, showed aggression when needed and continually pushed forward. Determined.

Peter Utaka [Ventforet Kofu]

Despite the opposition defence being listless, you can only beat what is put in front of you and Peter Utaka the killer certainly did that twice. Bright.
