Video alleging attack on Ebuka Obi AI-generated, says Zion Prayer Movement

Ebuka Obi

The Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has dismissed a viral YouTube video claiming Ebuka Obi, its leader, was attacked by gunmen after the commissioning of a free hospital in Aguleri, Anambra state.

In a statement issued Sunday, Dan Aibangbe, Obi’s media adviser, said the commissioning ceremony was successful.

The dramatic 16-minute viral video alleged that Obi was ambushed on his way from the hospital, and credited the evangelist’s driver’s skills for the “narrow escape”.

Aibangbe said the description was Hollywood-like.

“Although the AI-generated video appeared to show concern for the safety of the Man of God and requested viewers to pray for him, the details in the content is nothing less than a wicked fabrication with wild imaginations that could only serve to instil fear in the unwary and discourage massive attendance in its upcoming prayer crusade that usually marks the end of the annual 100-days fasting marathon,” the statement said.

“It also detracts from the highly improved security environment that has resulted from the deliberate and conscientious efforts of Governor Soludo.”

Aibangbe noted that Obi and his entire entourage peacefully departed the venue and travelled safely to Owerri, Imo.

He urged the public to always verify information from credible sources, refrain from sharing unverified content, remain vigilant, and report suspicious activities to appropriate authorities.

He also said the video in question has been flagged for sanctions by YouTube.
