VIDEO: Chaos as Team Ogun disrupts boxing event over alleged referee bias
The boxing bout between Shittu Afolabi and Kasali Abayomi was on Tuesday disrupted by members of Team Ogun over allegations of unfair officiating.
Members of Team Ogun said the referee’s decision did not favour their representative in the 52kg category bout.
Shittu, Team Lagos boxer, was adjudged the winner over Ogun’s Kasali at the Oba Akenzua Cultural Centre.
The referee’s decision did not go down well with Team Ogun as officials and spectators threw chairs, tables, and some dangerous objects in protest.
Security operatives have reportedly intervened to restore normalcy.
