Seven people died on Sunday when an aircraft owned by the Nigerian air force crashed at the Abuja airport.
Ibikunle Daramola, director of public relations and information of the Nigerian air force, said the chief of air staff has ordered an investigation into the incident.
“While urging the general public to remain calm & await the outcome of investigation, the CAS, on behalf of all NAF personnel, commiserates with the families of the deceased,” he said.
According to Daramola, the Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to the Abuja airport “after reporting engine failure en route Minna”.
The identities of the persons on board are yet to be made known.
