Members of the Civilian JTF, a vigilante outift in the north-east, arrested four suspected insurgents in Malari village at Konduga local government area of Borno state on Wednesday.

Some villagers, who identified the suspects, alerted the security group, which moved in to apprehend them.

They were paraded before Kashim Shettima, governor of the state, who was on a condolence visit to the community that suffered an attack from the sect on Monday.

Nuhu Kumshise, a member of the vigilante group, briefed journalists on the operation that led to the arrest.

”We arrested them today after his father handed over them to us, then they led us into the bush where the two remaining guys hid themselves,” he said.

One of the suspects confessed belonging to the militant group.

Shettima commiserated with the people over their losses as a result of the insurgency, assuring them that the government was working hard to ensure that normalcy is restored.
