Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, says he is confident that the people of the state will not regret voting the party back into power in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 8, 2026.

Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker and special adviser to Gboyega Oyetola, ex-governor of Osun, spoke during a consultation visit by Bola Oyebamiji, one of the APC governorship aspirants, to the Obokun LGA.

Oyintiloye said the APC is well-positioned to meet the expectations of the people, having conducted a thorough needs assessment through the state’s civic engagement agency under the previous administration.

As head of the Osun civic engagement agency under Oyetola’s government, Oyintiloye said the initiative was established to bridge the gap between the government and citizens, especially in policy development and service delivery.

“The blueprint to hit the ground running is already documented towards the expiration of Oyetola’s administration,” he said.

“Our incoming governor will definitely have a solid start with that document and his other initiatives that are already being fine-tuned.”

He called on voters in the state to support the APC, assuring them that the party is ready to build on past efforts and deliver meaningful development if returned to office.

Oyebamiji, who is currently the managing director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), agreed with Oyintiloye’s remarks.

He pledged to revisit the documented needs of communities across the state compiled during Oyetola’s tenure.

“The civic engagement agency would be resuscitated to bridge the gaps between the people and government,” Oyebamiji said.

“The document is available. The administration of our boss, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, invested in collating the needs of the people. What is being done with the document now? Let’s be patient. We shall get there and do our best to implement the content of that document.”

He also promised to prioritise issues affecting civil servants, artisans, and other key groups in the state if allowed to serve.

Expressing optimism about the APC’s chances in the next governorship election, Oyebamiji said he is confident of defeating the incumbent governor if allowed to contest on the party’s platform.

The governorship aspirant urged the people of Obokun to support his ambition, assuring them that he would run an inclusive, people-focused government that builds on the party’s legacy.
