Maxwell Mgbudem, national chairman of Accord Party (AP), says the party will transform Anambra if it wins the upcoming governorship election in the state.
Speaking on Thursday when he handed the certificate of return to Chidi Onyeeze, the party’s governorship flagbearer in the state, Mgbudem said the AP is presenting the “best candidate” for the election.
He said Onyeeze has the “capacity, vision and integrity to transform Anambra state and provide the dividends of democracy” to the people.
The national chairman said Anambra is a strategic commercial hub of the south-east and deserves a “resourceful, innovative, and pragmatic governor with enormous political sagacity and leadership acumen to formulate and implement pro-people policies and projects that will turn the state into the Dubai of Africa.”

He claimed that the current and previous administrations in the state have not delivered on their campaign promises, particularly in tackling insecurity.
Mgbudem advised Anambra residents to be in one accord and vote for the party’s candidate “for unity, security, prosperity, and infrastructural development”.
He expressed optimism that the party’s candidate will win the November 6 governorship election.

Onyeeze commended the party’s leadership for entrusting him with its governorship ticket and called on Anambra residents to support AP for sustainable development, security, and prosperity.
He said the time has come to restore Anambra to its former glory, pledging to run an issue-based campaign focused on a comprehensive development blueprint that promotes peace, unity, and inclusive governance.
Uju Izuakor, the party’s campaign director-general, asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be firm, resolute, and committed to conducting a free, fair, credible, inclusive, and peaceful election.
