The All Progressives Congress (APC) States Assembly Forum (ASAF) has congratulated Siminialayi Fubara, governor-elect of Rivers state.

Fubara contested the governorship election in Rivers on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He secured 302,614 votes to defeat Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 95,274 votes.

In a letter dated March 22, addressed to Fubara and signed by Fubara Dagogo, director-general of ASAF, the forum said it is “happy” to identify with the victory of the governor-elect.

The forum asked the Rivers governor-elect to continue to “advance the fortune” of the state in the “manner” Nyesom Wike, the outgoing governor, has done.

“We write to heartily felicitate you and congratulate you on your victorious outing in the just concluded governorship elections, and emergence as the Governor-Elect of the great Rivers State,” the letter reads.

“We are particularly happy to identify with your victory at this time of keen electoral contest across the States of the Nigerian Federation, especially the progressive outlook of your campaigns and your commitment to continuing to advance the fortunes of the good people of Rivers State in the same manner the incumbent Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has excellently demonstrated.

“APC State Assembly Forum (ASAF) comprises of all elected and serving State assembly members under the APC platform in all the States of Nigeria. We urge you to make the people the centre point of your Government policies and to leave a legacy of people-oriented programs in infrastructural development, social investments and sustainable reforms that will transform Rivers ‘State into a world-class standard.

“We equally pray to God Almighty to grant you wisdom, understanding, strength and the enablement required to carry through your assignment creditably.”
