Wike inspects FCT projects, tells contractors to maintain quality

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), says contractors handling projects in Abuja, the nation’s capital, should uphold the highest standards of quality.

Wike spoke on Monday while inspecting ongoing projects in Abuja ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s second-year anniversary celebration.

Among the projects inspected was the 16-kilometre inner northern expressway, stretching from Idu to Dei Dei, which is being constructed by Salini.

Wike also assessed the progress on the Jahi interchange, a project being undertaken by Gilmor, designed to link Wole Soyinka way with the Murtala Mohammed expressway.

Expressing his satisfaction with the pace and quality of the work, the minister praised the contractors for their dedication.

“The contractors have assured us that they are going to meet up with the deadline; they are working day and night,” he said.

“I have confidence that in the next two weeks the projects will look different and at finishing level. I am impressed with the contractors executing the two projects, and what is important is the quality of the job.”
