Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, has broken his silence on the dissolution of the state executive council, saying “those loyal will come back”.

Although he did not go into details of his own concept of loyalty, Wike based his decision to sack his cabinet on the need to ensure better performance of the machinery of government and move the state forward.

Wike noted that the dissolution was carried out after “due consultation” with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

He spoke at a thanksgiving service in honour of Evans Bipi, majority whip of the state house of assembly.

“There is no crack in government; we are working together. The dissolution was done in consultation with the leadership of PDP in the state.”
