Ayodeji Balogun, Nigerian singing sensation better known as Wizkid, has finally confirmed signing a new ambassadorial deal with Nigeria multinational telecommunication company, Globacom.

In May 2013, the multi-award winning artiste signed as a brand ambassador of MTN but reportedly refused to renew his contract in 2015.

Meanwhile as speculations were making rounds that Wizkid was about switching to Glo, MTN signed Cobhams Asuquo and went on to announce that its deal with Wizkid in that regard was over.

“As was originally conceptualized, the ambassadorship will continually evolve to accommodate new talents and cater for diverse segments,” said Richard Iweanoge, MTN’s consumer marketing manager, in a statement.

“For 2015, artistes like Timaya,Wizkid, seanTizzle and a few others will no longer be ambassadors for the brand even though the relationship continues in other areas in which MTN enables artists to monetise their work.”

Wizkid however confirmed that he had signed a deal with the first indigenous mobile telecommunication company in Nigeria.

He did this by posting pictures on his social media account and announcing that he would be hosting a show where Glo sims would be the entry ticket.
