A woman and her three children have died after being attacked inside an uncompleted building used as a church in the Agbowa area of Ikorodu in Lagos state.

While all the children died inside the church, their mother passed on at a hospital she was rushed to.

Fatai Owoseni, commissioner of police in the state, confirm this to reporters, saying the police was informed about the tragic incident around 4:30am on Wednesday.

“The incident happened at about 3am this morning at Agbowa in Ikorodu,” Owoseni said.

“The three murdered children were aged four, five and nine.

“The mother of the children was also wounded and later died in the hospital.”

He said the police was yet to identify the motive behind the murder, adding that the command had swung into to bring those responsible to book.

“We want to seize this opportunity to assure the public that we will continue to increase our visibility,” he said.
