Some workers locked the main gate of the ministry of finance on Monday, and prevented Kemi Adeosun, the minister, from entering her office.

The placard-wielding protesters called for her immediate removal, accusing her of not paying their allowances.

They chanted: “She must go! She must go! Olee! Ole! Ole! Ole!.”

‎Some of the inscriptions on their placards were: ‘PMB is an agent of change, Kemi Adeosun is an agent of negative change,’‎ ‘you are destroying federal ministry of finance madam kemi adeosun’,‎ ‘Kemi Adeosun must go,’ ‘Inflation is 15 percent courtesy of Kemi Adeosun’s incompetence’, ‘Adeosun’s score card is F9’.

‎Sighting the police, the protesters quickly locked up the exit gate of the building to prevent the security personnel from entering.  ‎

‎The workers later went from one office after another to chase out those who refused to join them in the protest.

Chanting she must go!Ole! is the height of it. What is the basis of this protest? Because their allowances were not paid does not mean she is incompetent. I am sure this set of protesters are not comfortable with the positive impact she is bringing to the Ministry and Nigeria as a whole. Kemi has blocked almost all the leakages in the Ministry and they are not happy. They are corrupt staff that wants corruption to continue. If this protesters should be traced, we will see that they are agents of corruption

Good to see that the minister is practicing what she preaches. This is all part of block unnecessary leakages and discipline in our finances. Can this people asking for her resignation justify this money they are asking for? Is it a statutory fee?

Protesting for not payment of allowances and calling her incompetent for not yielding to past ways of doing things? All these allowances these workers are protesting about are non-statutory. We have seen how headstrong this administration is going all out dealing with corruption in all spheres and secctors in the country. These non-statutory fees are nothing but leakages which I applaud the finance minister for taking charge to ensure such expenditure stops going out to waste.
Good thing the FG pays workers in full and on time, so their protest has no basis or better still these protesters are the set of people want corruption to continue and frustrate the minister’s efforts. These protesters should be traced as it appears they are agents of corruption.

@ Stella, dont mind them. Their salaries have been paid to FG workers fully so this payment they are demanding for is non-statutory. The days of money wastage is gone. Free money for ghost Worker blocked. They should adjust to the new era or be kicked out
