Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure, is facing a driving ban after pleading guilty to speeding at 101mph along a motorway.

The 32-year-old was caught speeding in his Porsche 911 on the M6 in Staffordshire on May 20, 2015.

Toure was due to appear before Cannock Magistrates Court on Friday but failed to appear and his solicitor entered a guilty plea on his behalf.

He denied another charge of speeding at 124mph after being allegedly clocked by the same two police officers on the northbound carriageway just six minutes later.

The Ivory Coast international will now stand trial at Burton-upon-Trent Magistrates Court on December 3, which he must attend.

Two additional charges relating to him not having insurance and failing to produce insurance were dropped by the prosecution.

In April this year his brother Kolo avoided a driving ban after his lawyers argued he was too famous to take public transport and would be mobbed by fans.

He was caught travelling at 57mph in a 40mph zone and then at 72mph in a 50mph zone in the same week.
