After Yobe, Boko Haram bomber hits Adamawa

At least nine people died as at first count following an attack at Garkida Market in Gombi local government area of Adamawa state.

Tuesday’s attack comes three days after a suicide bomber struck at a motor park in Damaturu, capital of Yobe state, killing seven people.

NAN said it happened at the entrance of the market around 2 pm.

Some residents of Garkida said the bomb was planted while others said it was a suicide bomber.

“I saw nine dead bodies while many others who sustained injuries where rushed to hospitals,” a resident who identified himself as Ibrahim, said.

Othman Abubakar, the state police public relations officer, confirmed the incident but said he had no details.

“I heard about the incident but I am yet to get official details,” he said.
