‘You are incompetent’ — rep asks Jigawa gov to resign

Sani Zorro, lawmaker representing Gumel, Gagarawa, Maigatari and Sule Tankarkar constituency in the house of representatives, has asked Muhammadu Badaru, governor of Jigawa state, to resign.

Zorro said the governor lack the ability to curb the criminality in the state.

The lawmaker also accused Badaru of bringing Chinese to Jigawa to impoverish the people.

He alleged that the governor made 14 trips to China for personal gains.

“Badaru gave out over 20,000 hectares of lands to the Chinese company without compensation commiserate to the value of the lands. And when people complain or reject the stipend call compensation, they jail them,” the legislator said.

“Badaru has spent more time in Chinese for his personal businesses than he did for Jigawa business. He has traveled to China for 14 times in three years. He brought Chinese companies to Jigawa to impoverish the people more.

“This was how Zamfara governor neglected his primary responsibility for governor forum in Abuja. He spends more time in Abuja more than he does in Zamfara while  bandits take over the state. Now it has gone out of control and we don’t want Jigawa to get to that level.

“Governor Badaru spend more time outside Jigawa now and ignoring bandits attack in some village. We want him to resign now before it is too late.”

Badaru won his reelection bid last month.
