The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has intensified its voter education campaign across rural communities in Ondo east and west federal constituencies.
In a statement issued on Friday by Olabisi Gideon, YPP’s acting publicity secretary in Ondo West LGA, the party said the engagement is aimed at bridging the gap between the government and the people.
The party said in a series of community visits led by Segun Idowu, leader of the delegation, its executives and supporters have been engaging residents directly, listening to their concerns and educating them on the power of their vote.
The outreach, the party added, is part of a broader strategy to foster political awareness and bridge the widening disconnect between citizens and elected officials.

“We are not here to make empty promises. We are here to show that politics can be different. We are here to listen, to learn, and to lead with integrity,” Idowu said.
The party reiterated that it is building a sustainable political movement rooted in truth, transparency, and transformational leadership, one that it says genuinely prioritises the welfare of rural communities.
As part of the outreach, the YPP announced plans to extend some of its community development activities to underserved areas.

These include improved rural road networks, electrification projects, promotion of mechanised farming, job creation through industrialisation, and enhanced mobile and internet connectivity.
The party also condemned the “increasing trend of vote buying” in the constituency, calling on citizens to reject electoral manipulation and instead support political actors committed to accountability and genuine progress.
“Our message is simple: the people deserve better, and the YPP is here to work hand-in-hand with them to make that a reality,” Idowu said.
