Zainab Ahmed, minister of finance, budget and national planning and Isa Pantami, minister of communications and digital economy will speak at the 2021 edition of the African Cashless Payment Systems Conference (ACPSC).

The two leaders will join other experts to brainstorm at the event.

The event said to be the largest FinTech event in Africa, is scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana, between November 28 and 30, 2021.

In a statement on Monday, Alex Itkin, Project Consultant, Cashless-Africa (organisers of the event), said that it is imperative to have fruitful conversations as Africa currently hosts some of the fastest-growing economies in the world.

Quoting the latest report from Bloomberg which revealed that the contribution of the financial-technology industry to Sub-Saharan Africa’s economic output will increase by at least $40 billion to $150 billion by 2022, Itkin noted that the event is expected to be declared open by Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s vice president.

Thomas Quartey Kwesi, deputy chairperson, African Union; Ernest Addison, governor of the Central Bank of Ghana; Ken Ofori Atta, Ghana’s finance minister; David Solomon, executive director, Goldman Sachs are among dDignitaries billed to attend the event.

Others include Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Ghana’s minister for communication; Archie Hesse, CEO of GHIPSS, Ghana, will speak on topical issues affecting cashless transactions in Africa.

The statement further disclosed that the conference will facilitate the latest technology demonstrations, knowledge sharing, high-level networking, and most importantly, one-on-one business meetings between decision-makers and top-tier solution providers transforming the digital future of the financial firmament of the region.
