Dr. Abraham Borbor, a Liberian doctor being treated with the experimental trial drug, ZMapp, has died.
Bobor becomes the second known patient to have died despite being administered with the trial drug.
On August 12, 75-year-old Spanish priest Miguel Pajares, who contracted the disease in Liberia, died in a Spanish hospital where he was receiving treatment.
But the drug has also led to the recovery of some other patients. ZMapp played a key role in the recovery of Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol – two American medics who contracted the disease in West Africa.
Confirming the death of the doctor, Lewis Brown, Liberia.’s information minister disclosed that Bobor died on Sunday.
Ebola has claimed over 1, 500 lives in different African countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, where it was discovered in 1976.
The government of Congo announced at the weekend that two people died from Ebola recently.
