Europe has the highest number of countries participating in the ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open.

The continent has 148 players – 95 men and 53 women – that have confirmed participation.

A total of ten European countries are expected for the championship while Asia has three representatives and Latin America has one.

Nigeria, Egypt, Algeria, Congo Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Ghana and South Africa are the eight African countries that will be represented at the championship.

This year’s ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open will record its the largest turnout of countries (22).

The local organising committee (LOC) has attributed the turnout to the popularity of the championship among players across the globe.

The five-day championship will see players compete for a prize money of $46,000.

ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open will hold between August 9 and 13 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
