The entire world was taken by storm last year, when the Coronavirus broke out, and quickly graduated to a global pandemic that changed our normal way of life; Covid-19 altered almost everything about the way we live, eat, work, travel, worship, and greet.

For ages, human beings had always shown one another love, warmth and goodwill by shaking hands and hugging, but all of that came to an abrupt end in 2020. For a while, even members of the same family avoided shaking hands and hugging themselves, until they gradually overcame the morbid fear of contracting the plague.

It’s particularly saddening that the same fear rules in the hearts and minds of many Christians, even as I pen these words.

If there’s anyone who shouldn’t be afraid of Covid-19, and other plagues and upheavals to come, it should be the CHRISTIAN, who is truly SAVED, and reads his/her BIBLE well.

And, not only did we stop greeting ourselves as normal homosapiens, we also started wearing masks like armed robbers and fugitives, even to banks, churches and other places one would never have imagined. We simply began to look like Mil Máscaras, that popular Mexican luchador (professional wrestler) of the seventies and eighties. A lot certainly changed last year, but the One Who said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33, neither changed nor left us. He’s always with those who trust in Him, and cling to Him.

“that you may love the LORD your GOD, that you may obey His voice, and that you may CLING to Him, for He is your LIFE and the LENGTH of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to …….” – Deuteronomy 30:20.

WHO IS GUARDING YOU?

The highly regarded clergyman, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, narrated how he went on one of his regular Prayer Walks, and found that the security man on duty was fast asleep; the fellow made no pretence of his intention, he had carefully lined up three to four chairs, and comfortably ‘arranged’ himself on the chairs.

Pastor Adeboye said that he thought of carting away the man’s boots, whistle and other items, but then changed his mind, after the Spirit of the LORD had whispered to him, “You, too, ought to be sleeping now.”

The point he was trying to make was, if you are trusting in man to watch over you, you may be making a big mistake, and you are likely going to be disappointed!

Why not put your TRUST, HOPE and SECURITY in the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Israel and Dele Aina. He doesn’t slumber, and He doesn’t sleep! His PROTECTION is sure!

GOD alone is the unfailing GUARD and GUIDE!

I’m trusting Him to keep me and my household from all evil, especially the one terrifying the entire world now – Covid-19.

Only GOD, and not any precautionary measures (which are good, and I observe, and recommend), can keep us from all infections, afflictions, and other evils emanating from the pits of hell and the human agents of Lucifer.

This is where, and why, KNOWLEDGE is very important. GOD’S Word assures us in Psalms 82:6, “I say, ‘You are gods; you are all children of the Most High.”

But, verse 7 is the result of not knowing who we are, and what GOD has called us, “But you will die like mere mortals and fall like every other ruler.’”

By all means, with all you get this March, get KNOWLEDGE, get UNDERSTANDING!

Last Wednesday, I gave one of my Pastors the book, ‘Extraordinary Miracles in the Lives of Ordinary People’, by Therese Marszalek.

The following day, he sent me a ‘Thank You Message’, informing me that he had started reading it.
Yesterday, in the parking lot of the Church, he excitedly shared with me one of the stories he had encountered in the book.

This is a busy man: Pastor, businessman, husband, father, etc, yet, he has TIME to seek for INFORMATION, and to pursue the KNOWLEDGE of the GOD, Who does EXTRAORDINARY MIRACLES. What about you?

Beginning now, I encourage you to read your BIBLE diligently, read the stories (autobiographies and biographies) of men and women who have made a success of their lives: Christian walk, families, businesses and careers.

Through KNOWLEDGE shall the Just be saved!

Be guided, and guarded, by the KNOWLEDGE of GOD’S WORD.
