70 travellers who violated travel ban intercepted in Oyo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo state says 70 travellers were turned back for violating the inter-state travel ban.

According to NAN, the travellers were intercepted at Ogbomoso south local government area of Oyo.

The report said they were travelling in three trucks that had 10 motorcycles in them altogether.

Iskilu Akinsanya, Oyo NSCDC commandant, said the travellers, 69 men and one woman, came from Bauchi and Katsina states.

Akinsanya said the travellers were heading to Bodija in Oyo and Alaba in Lagos.

The commandant said officers had been deployed to boundaries of the state to checkmate the influx of people and prevent the spread of COVID -19.

Akinsanya warned all illegal travellers to stop coming to Oyo, adding that anyone caught would face the full wrath of the law.
