Abubakar Bichi, a member of the house of representatives, says Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady, is a gift to Nigeria.  

In a statement issued on Thursday to felicitate with the wife of the president on the occasion of her 63rd birthday, Bichi said the first lady is a virtuous, upright and exceptional wife and mother. 

The legislator, who represents Bichi federal constituency of Kano,  noted that Oluremi Tinubu has distinguished herself in all endeavours over the years and is a good example for Nigerian youths. 

“In a world of constant change, she remains a steady presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Nigerians,” the statement reads.

“Her steadfast stewardship in Africa’s biggest democracy has made the nation better and more prosperous through war and peace, times of adversity, and times of prosperity. 

“Her life has been a gift, not just to Nigeria, but to the world, breaking many barriers for women and setting a perfect example for young girls to say: ‘I really can be anything I want to be.’

“As a wife and mother, she is a beacon of support to her husband, family, and everyone around her. We could not ask for a better First Lady at this time.”

Bichi, who chairs the house of representatives committee on appropriations, said he hoped the first lady would continue to lead an impactful life in years to come.
