Safiyanu Isa-Andaha, chairman of Akwanga LGA of Nasarawa who was abducted by gunmen, has regained his freedom.

Isa-Andaha was abducted by gunmen at Ningo village on Monday.

Confirming his release in a message on Wednesday, Ramhan Nansel, police spokesperson in the state, said the chairman was released at about 8 pm on Tuesday.

Nansel said no ransom was paid to secure Isa-Andaha’s release, adding that he regained freedom after security operatives mounted pressure on the abductors.
