Kemi Adeosun, minister of finance, says N450 billion has so far been released for capital projects in 2017.

She said this on Thursday while addressing state house correspondents after the federal executive council (FEC) meeting in Abuja.

However, the minister did not give a breakdown of the release.

The N7.4 trillion 2017 budget has a total of N2.2 trillion (N2,177,866,775,864) meant for capital projects.

In September, the ministry of finance had said a total of N336 billion was disbursed for capital projects in the first quarter of 2017.

A statement which Patricia Deworitshe, the ministry’s spokesperson, had showed that the ministry of power, works and housing received the largest allocation of N90 billion.

This was followed by defence and security which got N71 billion.

The ministries of transport and agriculture received N30 billion each while N115 billion was shared among the other sectors.
