A Nigerian air force helicopter crashed close to an internally displaced camp in Yola, Adamawa state, on Monday, but there were no casualties.

The camp is situated in Damare, a community around Yola, capital of the state.

The helicopter was  on a training mission when it executed a controlled forced landing four minutes after take-off at the runway approach end of Yola International Airport.

A security source told TheCable that although “no one died” in the incident, a panel would be set up to investigate the cause.
