Tanko Al-Makura, governor of Nasarawa state, has approved the appointment of sole administrators in 11 out of the 13 local government areas in the state.

Aliyu Tijani-Ahmed, commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, disclosed this in a statement issued in Lafia, the state capital on Saturday.

According to the statement, the appointment followed the expiration of the tenure of office of the affected chairmen.

“By virtue of the expiration of their tenure on March 24, the 11 LGA stand dissolved, hence the need to appoint sole administrators in order not to have a vacuum at the LGAs,” the statement read.
