Amid calls for restraint, Israel vows to respond to Iran’s attack

Israel says it will respond to an attack launched by Iran against it.

At the weekend, Iran launched dozens of drones and missiles against Israel in response to an attack the Jewish country carried out on its embassy in Syria.

Most of the Iranian missiles and drones were taken down before they hit their targets in Israel.

Israel’s attack which occurred on April 1 reportedly killed seven Iranian military officers.

Reuters quoted Herzi Halevi, Israel’s military chief of staff, as saying that his country will respond, but did not provide details.

Halevi made the comments when he visited Nevatim Air Base in southern Israel, which sustained some damage in the attack.

“This launch of so many missiles, cruise missiles, and drones into Israeli territory will be met with a response,” the army chief said.

US President Joe Biden has reportedly said his country would not be part of a counter-attack on Iran.

Since the war on Hamas, Israel has been in conflict with Iran-backed groups in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
