Iran has summoned the French, British, and German ambassadors over reactions to its missile attack on Israel.

The three European countries have condemned Iran’s attack on Israel.

Iran’s foreign ministry summoned the ambassadors over what it referred to as their “irresponsible stance” on the strikes.

On Saturday, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel in a reprisal move. The attack from Iran was the first time it has targeted Israel directly from Iranian soil.

Israel had said alongside allies, it has intercepted more than 300 Iranian drones and missiles.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) added that a small number of missiles landed on Israeli territory, including on an IDF base in southern Israel, with one person left injured.

President Joe Biden of the United States has assured Israel of the “ironclad” support of the US, adding that America helped “take down nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles”.

Rishi Sunak, UK prime minister, had condemned Iran’s attack and confirmed that UK jets shot down a number of the drones.

“The UK participated in an international coordinated effort to intercept the missiles and drones Iran fired,” he said.

“The RAF sent additional planes to the region.”

Israel’s military also said France was among the countries involved in intercepting the missiles, adding that “France has very good technology, jets, radar — and I know they were contributing in patrolling airspace”.
