President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with Kayode Komolafe, executive director of THISDAY newspapers, over the death of his mother, Morenike.

In a statement on Monday by Garba Shehu, his spokesman, Buhari described the late matriarch as a selfless person who contributed in her own way to ensuring development.

He prayed for the repose of her soul, and expressed optimism that the Komolafe family will honour the deceased’s memory by extending a hand of fellowship to those in need.

“President Muhammadu Buhari extends heartfelt condolences to the Komolafe family on the passing of their beloved matriarch, Chief Mrs Morenike Victoria Komolafe, the mother of Kayode Komolafe, the Group Executive Director, ThisDay Newspapers Limited,” the statement reads.

“President Buhari trusts that Chief Komolafe’s children, extended family, friends and associates, will continually honour her memory by extending the compassion and selflessness, that epitomised her life, to those in need.

“The President joins them in mourning and celebrating the life of a silent achiever and philanthropist, praying God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.”
