Taoreed Lagbaja, the chief of army staff (COAS), has ordered men of operation safe haven (OPSH) to arrest the killers of Adamu Gabdo, a leader of Fulani herders, in Plateau.

Gabdo was reportedly killed on Saturday in the Panyam community in Mangu LGA of the state.

Abdusalam Abubakar, commander of OPSH, who visited the community on Tuesday, told journalists that the army chief ordered the arrest of the assailants within 48 hours.

Describing the act as criminal, Abubakar said the operation would track down the perpetrators of the dastard act.

“Few days ago, we got a report that an Ardo was killed in Panyam. My men and I have not been sleeping because of this,” he said.

“The COAS has given us 48 hours to arrest the perpetrators and this is a task we must accomplish.

“This is an act of criminality and we will ensure that we bring the criminals to justice or we bring justice to them.
