Attijjaniya Islamic sect endorses Tinubu for presidency

The Attijjaniya Islamic sect has prayed for the success of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2023 general election.

At a ceremony held on Saturday in Niger state, Muhammad Niass, grand khalifa of the Attijjaniya Islamic sect, also conferred a grand khadi title on Tinubu.

According to a statement by Mary Noel-Berje, chief press secretary to the Niger governor, the event was part of activities for the maulud celebration of Jam’iyatul Ansarul Deeni Attijjaniya in the state.

Niass said the APC presidential candidate is a trusted person in the areas of human and infrastructural development, adding that he will transform the country if elected president.

The grand khalifa also urged the Muslim faithful to continue to pray for peace in the country.

Dignitaries at the event included Abubakar Bello, governor of Niger; Zubairu Dada, minister of state for foreign affairs; Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu Nupe and chairman of the Niger state council of traditional rulers; Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano; and Dimeji Bankole, former speaker house of representatives.
