BATN Foundation calls for collaboration to empower rural Nigeria

BATN Foundation, in its ongoing commitment to empowering rural Nigeria for a sustainable future, has announced a Charity Challenge: Call for NGO applications. The Charity Challenge is an opportunity to nominate and raise funds for a local charity organization that’s making a positive impact in the society. BATN Foundation will be donatingthe sum of One-million-naira to the local Charity.

Individuals are invited to nominate deserving charity organizations, local NGOs to participate in the challenge. By rallying support for local communities, the aim is to uplift communities, through this call, the BATN Foundation aims to strengthen the network of organizations working towards a common goal of transforming and improving the well-being of rural Nigeria.  

The Foundation is inviting applications from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that meet the following criteria:

The NGO must be duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or other relevant agencies.
The NGO should have proven experience working in areas such as poverty reduction/zero hunger, support for elderly persons, rural community service, sustainable development, and education.
The NGO cannot be affiliated with any public or government officials.
The NGO should have a strong reputation for charitable work and avoid any history of negative publicity.

The method of selection for interested NGOs will involve a comprehensive review and evaluation process of their detailed proposals. The submission of the proposal should include the following:

A brief profile of the NGO, highlighting its key achievements.
Proof of registration with the CAC.
A one-page document or a short video outlining how the NGO intends to use the grant funds from the BATN Foundation.

Shortlisted NGOs will be chosen for further consideration, whilethe finalists will undergo due diligence to verify their legal status, reputation, and alignment with the Foundation’s values and performance goals.

Oludare Odusanya, General Manager of the BATN Foundation, stated, “ We are dedicated to empowering rural Nigeria and we recognize the crucial role NGOs play in achieving this goal. Through strategic partnerships, we aim to amplify our impact and support initiatives that directly address the needs for a sustainable future.”

He added that the Foundation believes that partnering with strong and experienced NGOs, will significantly contribute to building a more prosperous and sustainable future for all.

Interested NGOs are encouraged to submit detailed proposals outlining their qualifications, project plans, and expected outcomes. All screening will be done internally by the governance team of the Foundation until the winner is announced.

The application deadline is 17th May 2024 and all applications should be submitted via CharityChallenge-CallForNGOs
