An emergency official told the BBC that the attackers could be between 11 and 15 years old.

The explosion reportedly claimed the lives of the suicide bombers and four others while 17 injured are said to be receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital.

The attacks come hours after insurgents blew up a mosque in the Molai area of the city, killing an unspecified number of people.

Borno has been the state most devastated by attacks from insurgents, most of them happening in Maiduguri.
