Buhari to host Super Eagles on Wednesday
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Wednesday host the World Cup-bound Super Eagles at the presidential villa, Abuja.
According to a statement made available to TheCable by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Eagles will be hosted by the president before the weekly federal executive council meeting.
The statement read: “Solomon Dalung, minister of youth and sports, will present the country’s ambassadors to President Buhari, hours before they are due to fly to London aboard a chartered aircraft.”
The team will play two more friendlies against the Czech Republic and England before the World Cup begins.
In five previous outings at the World Cup, the Eagles reached the round of 16 on three occasions (1994, 1998 and 2014), but crashed out in the group stage at the 2002 and 2010 finals.
