Olisa Metuh, spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari of treating members of the former ruling party and Goodluck Jonathan’s men as “prisoners of war”.

Addressing PDP stakeholders in Lokoja, capital of Kogi state, during the re-scheduled ward congress of the party in Kogi on Tuesday, Metuh said his party was ready for alleged intimidation by Buhari’s government.

“We condemn the uncivilised method of arrest, intimidation and the denial of the fundamental human rights of members of our party who served in the last administration by the Buhari led administration,” he said.

“We are being treated as if we are prisoners of war. We are being treated like as refugees.

“But we are not afraid, we have faith in our strength and unity; faith in the peace, unity and progress of Nigeria. We are not afraid of the intimidation, harassment and arrest of our members by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.”

Metuh expressed confidence that his party would win the forthcoming elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.

He had earlier condemned last week’s raid of the Abuja residence of Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser, accusing Buhari of persecuting Dasuki.
