Chelsea announce Costa signing

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, the club has announced.
The Spain striker was widely expected to move to Stamford Bridge this summer in a £33m switch and Chelsea have now publicly confirmed that the transfer has been agreed.
A short statement released by the Blues read: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Diego Costa, with Chelsea meeting the buy-out clause for the Spanish international.”
Costa, who had a very disappointing World Cup, had been a long-term target for Blues manager, Jose Mourinho, who recently expressed confidence in landing the Brazil-born forward.
