Chelsea and Liverpool played out a highly entertaining 1-1 draw in their opening game of the English Premier League (EPL) at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The thrilling encounter also had two disallowed goals — one for each side — by the video assistant referee (VAR).

Chelsea paraded a new-look team alongside Mauricio Pochettino, their new manager.

Liverpool, on the other hand, also fielded Alexis McAllister and Dominik Szoboszlai, their two summer recruits in midfield.

Disasi got the home fans rocking again when he stuck out a boot to divert Ben Chillwell’s header into the net on 39 minutes.

Both Salah and Chillwell had strikes chalked off by VAR as Chelsea finished the half strongly.

Both sides continued to seek openings in attack without luck, as VAR denied Liverpool a penalty for handball upon review.

The match ended without a victor as both clubs, expected to challenge for the league this season, took a point apiece.

Elsewhere, Tottenham relinquished the lead before fighting back to claim a point with a 2-2 draw at Brentford.
