Clinton to absentee voters: If your ballot was rejected in Georgia, you can still fix it

Hillary Clinton, former US secretary of state, has asked absentee voters in Georgia to check the status of their ballot in the presidential election.

This is coming a few hours after President Donald Trump, candidate of the Republican Party, asked for a halt of vote counting.

Two days after the elections, vote counting is still going on in key battlegrounds as the race for the White House between Joe Biden, former vice-president and candidate of the Democratic Party, and Trump, becomes intense.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, Clinton informed residents who voted in absentia that they can still fix their ballots if they were rejected.

“Please share with friends and family in Georgia. If you voted absentee in Georgia, please check the status of your ballot now,” the tweet read.

“If it was rejected, you have until 5pm on Friday, November 6, to fix it and make sure your vote counts.”

Trump is currently leading Georgia with 2,432,928 votes, while Biden has 2,414,782.
