Desmond Elliot defeats incumbent to clinch APC ticket
Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot has emerged as the winner of the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Surulere Constituency 1, Lagos.
Elliott defeated Kabiru Lawal, incumbent representative of the constituency at the Lagos state house of assembly.
The actor had a vigorous pre-primary campaign that included getting endorsements from such celebrities as footballing great, Kanu Nwankwo.
The graduate of Economics from the Lagos State University (LASU) has had a very promising career in the nation’s entertainment sector.
An ambassador of popular telecommunication outfit, Globacom, he is married with four children.
Dayo Adeneye, Abolore Akande (9ice), Kate Henshaw and Tony Tetuila are some other entertainers vying for different positions in the forthcoming general election.
