EFCC arrests 23 ‘internet fraudsters’ in Enugu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has arrested 23 suspected internet fraudsters in Enugu.

In a statement on Wednesday, Dele Oyewale, EFCC spokesperson, said the suspects were arrested on May 10 in Igboeze, Nsukka.

He said the suspects were taken into custody following actionable intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.

Oyewale said items recovered from the suspects included “3 cars, mobile phones, laptops, one point of sale (POS) machine and several incriminating documents”.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement reads.

On May 9, the anti-graft agency arrested 29 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja.
