Ezenwa to start in goal for Super Eagles against Cameroon
Ikechukwu Ezenwa will start in goal for the Super Eagles against Cameroon in Friday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying cracker in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
This was announced during the team’s press conference held on Wednesday at the Ibom Meridien Hotel, Uyo.
South Africa-based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has been ruled out of action as a result of an injury. Akpeyi was in goal in the 3-1 win over Algeria at the same venue in November 2016.
Former junior international Dele Ajiboye, who is the main goalie for Nigeria Professional Football League table-toppers Plateau United, has been called in to replace Akpeyi.
As at Wednesday afternoon, the Cameroonians were yet to communicate to the Nigeria Football Federation their arrival time in the country.
Friday’s showdown at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium will kick off at 5pm.
