Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, has accused the federal government of rising against Christians in Nigeria with the recent Financial Regulation Council Act that prompted Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God, to name a new Nigeria head for the church.
Fayose said this during his wife’s 53rd birthday thanksgiving service in Ado Ekiti, on Sunday.
Financial Regulations Council had stipulated a maximum retirement period of 20 years or an age limit of 70 years, whichever comes first, for the heads of all registered churches, mosques, and civil society organisations.
According to Fayose, the federal government will incur the wrath of God for “meddling” in the affairs of the church and for ignoring the “killings of Christians in southern Kaduna”.

“There is one thing every government must not do, the moment you face the church of God, you will fail,” he said.

“The God of Adeboye, Kumuyi will bring down all the enemies in this government. Somebody must tell them, there are certain things you don’t do. They are going from frying pan to fire.”

He accused the federal government of trying to subdue the church that they exploited to get into power,

“The APC is behaving in this way, but God is the creator of the ring and the hand…

“I have warned and I’m still warning: take your hands away from the administration of churches. You are killing Christians, the Lord will rise against you.

“By rising against the church, this government has failed, as anyone that rises against God will fail. By using laws against the church, they have started to crumble.”
